Milestone

It has been a while since i wrote anything to update my parents as well as general public of our progress. I would like to explain about our centre milestone.

What is milestone. For Krista Nusaputra, achievement is about attaining agreed set of ability. Therefore we emphasize on rewarding children on their accomplishment on attaining set goal rather than rewarding them based on score attained.

In Krista Nusaputra, there is no competition amongst them. The competition is against set goals. So long the children achieve the set goals, they are certified as winner.

Examples, for english reading class, we have set goals to be achieved by every age group. By end of the year, so long as they achieve the minimum standard set, they will be recognise as a winner. They achieve their set goal.

There a difference is ability to grasp new things amongst all kids. However, we believe each and everyone of our kids can be coach to achieve minimum standard. Time taken by each kids may differ but they all will get there by end of year. That is our hope and MILESTONE.

For Reading English class, below is standard set for each age group.
Age Milestone
4 Able to independently read Peter and Jane book 5a.
5 Able to independently read Peter and Jane book 7b.
6 Able to independently read Peter and Jane book 11a.

For mathematics, a simmilar milestone is set. So long the kids can be assessed against this milestone and able to master the required skill set in milestone, they are on track. Of course there will be kids whom able to move further than required milestone. We strive in making sure they will be on faster track but at the same time effort will be put to ensure the rest of kids meet our required milestone.

With milestone, we believe the kids will be better equipped for the primary schooling. There will be kids whom able to score 100% on every subject, but if all kids can score perfect score on milestone related question, then we know they are ready for next level.
